The Heldentoren is a unique 20-storey apartment building in Heist. With it, a new landmark is created to help shape the future. It will become an architectural beacon that connects, strengthens the local identity and attracts new investments. Grain was asked to work in addition to Neutelings—Riedijk Architects to develop the interior plans, design the community areas and create a brand and marketing concept.
With an architecture this strong, the choice to integrate design cues from the outside in the interiors was evident. Rounded elements were combined with strong architectural lines. Thanks to the slimness of the tower, most of the apartments enjoy a view to the North ànd South, resulting in unique 'see trough' apartments, which was evidently reinforced in the interior plans. A search for understated luxury, refined perspectives and breathtaking views led to apartments with a very strong 'homey' feel and smart layouts to guarantee an optimal living pleasure. This feeling was translated in all communication, conveying a high-end message in an accessible tone. Dont's: gold foil and other screamy finishes. Do:'s beautiful papers, refined typography and clear copywriting.
