Dunas

This restaurant, also situated next to the dunes at the Belgian coast, had an obvious source of inspiration — the sea and dunes. Working mainly with textures and volumes proved to be the right angle to approach this concept. The whole restaurant became an exercise in translating the sea and its environment into an interior.

From the weathered metals and a stormy carpet to the soft forms and faded curtains, every material or detail has its origin in the inspiring entity we call the North Sea. Deep blue-greys on stormy winter days, beautiful green and beiges on a soft summer day and every nuance in color, feel and texture in between provided us with enough material to create a restaurant that is serene, yet boasts a broad arsenal of unexpected twists.

The owners's request was to create a 'city vibe'. So we integrated a spacious zone for the bar; allowing walk-ins to have a drink and some bites while waiting for a table or enjoy an after-dinner cocktail. We even added a DJ booth in the bar section to entertain guests on busy weekends. Moody lighting and cosy nooks and corners create intimacy and offer guests a welcoming feeling while dining.
